Sport Programs

Primarily Active provides a range of fun and stimulating programs that develop children’s fundamental sporting skills in an environment that encourages kids to participate to the best of their ability. Our programs include:

Louise Outram

Principal St. Francis Xavier, Belmont

The Primarily Active gymnastics program was well detailed and structured, incorporating relevant activities and skills for each stage group. Krista and James (coaches) were professional and highly skilled in their lesson delivery. Both coaches made genuine attempts to build a good rapport with all students. This quality, together with large amounts of equipment engaged students and resulted in an observable increase in their skill levels over the duration of the program.

Rosmary Wade

Assistant Principal St. Patricks Swansea

Year Four students at St Patrick’s thoroughly enjoyed their gymnastics sessions in Term One. The lessons were well planned and sequential. The resources and equipment used were safe yet sufficiently challenging for each age group and level of expertise. James and Lana were always attentive and well prepared. They spent time developing a rapport with the students and were in tune with each child’s needs. Our students were motivated each week and over the term it was evident that their self-confidence, self-esteem and gymnastics skills had improved.

Jenny Connors

Teacher St. Paul's, Gateshead

Primarily Active conducted a dance program at our school during term 2. Both (Laura & Bronte) were very good coaches making lessons fun and physically exhilarating for all students. The program challenged students with movement and body awareness. Students clearly enjoyed the lessons and participated enthusiastically each week. By the conclusion of the program, it was evident that students displayed development in their movement skills and body awareness.

An excellent program (gymnastics) that addresses stage outcomes and the gymnastics strand perfectly. Program was very skills based with a variety of activity and excellent instruction provided by the coaches. Particularly impressed with large range and quality of equipment used. Instructors are highly professional and the kids loved having both Ryan and Brianna. The best gymnastics program we have had!

St. John Vianney, Morisset

Program was fantastic! Children were provided with a real gymnastics experience, activities were appropriate and challenging for all. Students thoroughly enjoyed the program and found it interesting to learn new skills. I was particularly impressed with assessment, range of equipment and the very qualified instructors. Ryan and Blake did a great job, especially when you could see student progress in that short period of time.

Staff

St. Josephs, Kilaben Bay

Children were totally engaged and they learnt many new exercises and strengthening activities. The assessment of children was thorough and timely with lessons well organised and providing quality equipment. The way Ryan and Bree performed tasks and games was excellent. Both were very positive and pushed the students with challenges.

St. Joseph's, East Maitland

Great variety of tasks and range of equipment. The direct assessment input makes life much easier for the teacher. Focused on all gymnastics outcomes which most classroom teachers are not qualified or confident to teach. The coaches ran a professional series of lessons that built on skills over the term. Both Blake and Ryan got along with kidsand added to their experience. Thank you!

Angela Schneider

Teacher SFX Belmont

What a wonderful program you have delivered. You guys did a fantastic job! Thank you for all of your hard work and for getting to know the children so well.

Leanne Treadwell

Teacher SFX Belmont

This was a well sequenced, progressive program which enabled kids to build upon skills. I liked how skills were broken down into smaller components that the kids could master before moving onto next component. Ryan and Blake were a great mix of professionalism and fun; they related well to the kids and the kids liked and respected them.
